This board brings the QFN20 MCP23008 I2C port expander to your RFduino! Pin compatible with the RFduino and existing shields. Another benefit is that each pin can safely drive 20mA (Absolute maximum rating of 25mA)!! Perfect for LEDs etc.
When you cancel the clock signal on the bus (Wire.end()), standby current goes down to 1uA.
This board uses I2C on pins 2 and 3. (See our blog for how to set your RFduino i2c pins! Link below)
Adafruit has an Arduino library to simplify the use of this chip:

It isn't directly compatible with their library but tweaking it shouldn't be too difficult. Check out our blog post with the code we wrote to test the board. The code shows how easy it is to control it directly, and should give everyone the basics to use it!
